Somebody Cares SPOTLIGHT

Here at Somebody Cares Tampa Bay we want to take the time to recognize the people and organizations that partner with us. Each month we will take a moment to share with you one of our partners and what they do.

Helping those in crisis during a disaster is a really challenging task. What do they need? Where can we get it? Who can help us? How do we deliver it?

When SCTB began looking for urgent supplies needed for the Bahamas in the wake of Hurricane Dorian, Cornerstone Christian Church (CCC) was among the first to step forward--and they did so in an extraordinary way!

Pastors Bill and Margie Cooper immediately mobilized their church into action. They also sent word to their partner churches across the country, and Faith Christian Church of Tuscon helped to heed the call.

Through the leadership of the Coopers, arrangements were made with Lowe's to provide TEN top-of-the-line generators!

These generators are fuel-efficient, run for 12 hours on one tank of gasoline, and have premium features. The blessing and the witness these generators will provide to the Bahamians and rescue workers is immeasurable. We are sure we will hear testimonies for years to come!

While CCC has been a strong partner with us through other programs, such as CareFest, over the years, it takes an extra level of compassion to reach out in a time of crisis.

But CCC understands the importance of outreach. Actively ministering to the campus communites in Tampa Bay can prove to be a daunting and exhausting task, yet CCC faithfully serves this community.

Each fall, CCC goes to area campuses (USF and UT) to  greet students and extend invitations to their student groups. And each spring, CCC conducts a special Spring Break Outreach, while ministering to students and families week to week.

Faithful CareFest volunteers, CCC helps with both project evaluations and project adoptions. This year, CCC has adopted three families to perform their painting, yard work and beautification projects. We are so grateful to CCC for what they have done and continue to do for the Kingdom!

"...They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life."
